Darcy Financial Planning | Website Rebuild, Hosting and Digital Support

Darcy Financial Planning came to me via a referral from an existing client. They were operating on a template site provided by St. James's Place that gave them virtually no control over their own web presence. They could add articles. That was about it. Design, layout, structure: all locked down by the provider. For an FCA regulated financial adviser who wanted to present herself differently, that was not going to work.

My solution

I rebuilt the site from scratch on WordPress. Gemma had a clear idea of what she wanted: something that reflected her approach as a lifestyle financial adviser, rather than the standard financial services look that her previous setup imposed on her. That meant building something distinctive while staying firmly within FCA requirements.

Compliance is not optional in financial services, and it shaped a significant part of the build. The site includes the specific wording and disclosures required for a regulated adviser. Blog posts and articles go through a structured approval process before they go live, handled via a custom plugin built into the site. That means content can be written and prepared without going public until it has been properly signed off. The schema markup uses sameAs to connect the site’s entity to Gemma’s social profiles and, critically, her entry on the FCA register, giving search engines a direct line to an authoritative regulatory source confirming her identity and regulated status.

Alongside the build, I manage hosting and ongoing technical maintenance: regular updates, performance monitoring, and ad-hoc support whenever the business needs changes or compliance updates made.

Results

Darcy Financial Planning now has full ownership of a web presence that reflects how Gemma actually works, not how a provider decided a financial adviser should look. The compliance workflow is embedded in how the site operates from the start. Hosting is managed and reliable, and support is there when it is needed.

The schema work produced a measurable impact on search visibility. Following the build, the site saw an 88% increase in impressions and a rise of around 25% in clicks. The sameAs connection to the FCA register is what drives this: it gives Google a verifiable, authoritative signal about who the business is and that it is properly regulated, which directly affects how confidently the site is surfaced in relevant searches.

What clients say

Darcy Financial Planning

Rather than follow the financial services’ traditional approach to website design, I wanted something a little different to reflect my professional style of delivery as a lifestyle financial adviser. Paul helped us create a unique, user-friendly website to our exact specification. Nothing was too much trouble during the build and Paul has hosted and managed the website for us ever since without any issues. We highly recommend his services and expertise!

Eight years ago I decided to create a blog to share my experiences as a novice dog owner. I’ve been using Paul’s services over the years for clients and he’s never let me down, so enlisted his help to create and host a simple blog. Since then it has transformed into a comprehensive website. It’s been regularly updated to incorporate the latest technology to make it very easy to manage myself, with Paul always on hand to assist with tweaks and suggestions. Paul is a real expert in his field and explains everything in clear and simple terms. He’s my go-to person for all things tech!

As the clerk to the trustees/manager I could not be happier with the service from Paul. From the very start, he walked us through the entire process with patience and clarity, making sure everything made sense to us. He understood exactly what our charity needed and helped us save valuable funds by guiding us through Non-Profit Microsoft services. Nothing was too much trouble and he is always there when we need support. We are so grateful to have someone so reliable and knowledgeable helping us make the most of our online presence. We will be using Paul to create our website in the near future. We highly recommend him.
